Security Best Practices

API Key Security

  • Never share your API key with unauthorized users
  • Store it securely - plemeo.ai encrypts your API keys
  • Regenerate regularly for enhanced security
  • Use system users instead of personal accounts for business applications

Access Permissions

Only grant the minimum necessary permissions:

  • ads_read - For viewing campaign data
  • ads_management - Only if you need to modify campaigns (usually not required for reporting)

Troubleshooting

Invalid Ad Account ID

If you receive an "Invalid Ad Account ID" error:

  • Double-check the ID format (should be numeric)
  • Ensure you're using the correct business account
  • Verify you have access to the ad account

API Key Issues

If your API key isn't working:

  • Ensure the system user has the correct permissions
  • Check that the token hasn't expired
  • Verify the app is associated with your business account
  • Try regenerating the token

Can't Find Business Settings

If you can't access Business Settings:

  • Ensure you have administrator access to the business account
  • Check if you're logged into the correct Facebook account
  • Contact your business account administrator
